Accepting requests and providing information (ENG)
In accordance with the requirements of Article 19 of the Law, requests for information may be submitted, at the requester’s choice, orally, in writing or in another form (by mail, fax, telephone, email). The request may be individual or collective. A written request may be submitted in any form.
Requests are accepted and access to public information is provided in a specially designated area located on the 1st floor of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office: Shevchenko Boulevard, 286, Cherkasy (entrance to the central office is provided from the side of Shevchenko Boulevard – “Citizens’ Reception”).
Work with information requesters is carried out during working hours.
Requests for information should be submitted to:

The request for information should contain:
1) the name (title) of the requester, postal address or e-mail address, as well as the number of the means of communication, if any;
2) a general description of the information or the type, name, details or content of the document for which the request is made, if known to the requester;
3) signature and date, provided that the request is submitted in writing.
In order to simplify the procedure for processing written requests for information, the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office has developed a Form for submitting a request for public information, which can be obtained at the premises of the “Citizens’ Reception” of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office: Shevchenko Boulevard, 286, Cherkasy, 18010, and on this website.
If, for good reason, a person cannot submit a written request, he or she will be provided with assistance in completing the request by a responsible employee of the department for reviewing requests for public information, who must indicate his or her name and contact number in the request, and provide a copy of the request to the person who submitted it.
Information is provided free of charge upon request.
If satisfying a request for information involves making copies of documents exceeding 10 pages, the requester is obliged to reimburse the actual costs of copying and printing.
When providing a person with information about themselves and information of public interest, no fee is charged for copying and printing.
According to Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information”, decisions, actions or inaction of information managers may be appealed to the head of the manager, a higher authority or a court.
Appealing decisions, actions or inaction of information managers to the court is carried out in accordance with the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine.
In accordance with Article 17 of the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information”, parliamentary control over compliance with the human right to access information is carried out by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, temporary investigative commissions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and people's deputies of Ukraine.
